Responsible for all activities associated with helping operators on all presses including setup, operation, cleanup and recommending improvements to operations.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities:\u00a0 Set-up slotting, feed and die cut sections on machine accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.\u00a0 Monitor board quality, including – loose liner, warp, dimensions, caliper and any other defects.\u00a0 Report any quality problems to the operator and sort as necessary to keep the machine running.\u00a0 Work at the pace set by the machine operator.\u00a0 Cross train on other machines as necessary.\u00a0 Be willing to move up the line of progression to operator regardless of shift.\u00a0 Complete necessary reports in a timely manner.\u00a0 Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.\u00a0 Be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.\u00a0 Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.\u00a0 Help operators adhere to production schedule.\u00a0 Make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals.\u00a0 Reports any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor.\u00a0 Assist operator in any other duties assigned by Management.<\/p>\n
Education and\/or Experience:\u00a0 High School Diploma or GED and candidates are preferred who offer experience in the corrugated industry.<\/p>\n
Mathematical Skills:\u00a0 Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.\u00a0 \u00a0Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.<\/p>\n
Reasoning Ability:\u00a0 Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and graphic form.\u00a0 Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.<\/p>\n
Physical Demands:\u00a0 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.\u00a0 The employee is required to use hands, handle and feel along with reaching with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.\u00a0 The employee is occasionally required to sit.\u00a0 The employee must regularly lift and\/or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift and\/or move up to 100 pounds.\u00a0 Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.<\/p>\n
