The scope of your role will be to\u00a0serve as an\u00a0Electrician for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all Mine Electrical Systems including Surface and Underground Electrical Power Distribution.<b>\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>This role offers a great opportunity for growth and to expand knowledge and skills.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Twentymile mine is an underground coal mine located in Colorado\u2019s scenic Yampa Valley about 20 miles outside Steamboat Springs, a ski resort and vacation destination. The surrounding area has towns both large and small including Oak Creek, Craig, Hayden, and Steamboat Springs. Hunting and fishing are very popular in this area. Shotgun and archery hunting is allowed on Peabody property for employees with proper authorization.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Peabody Twentymile has a safety-first culture and has been recognized two years in a row by the National Mining Association as the safest underground coal mine in the United Sates. The award recognizes coal and mineral mining operations with the lowest MSHA reportable injury rate. In 2023, Twentymile completed three years without a single reportable injury.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Hourly Pay for this position is $28\/hour.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all Mine Electrical systems on Surface and Underground Electrical Power Distribution.<\/li>\n<li>Rotating work including some weekends<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The Lifestyle:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This position is a full-time role, working from Twentymile Mine location in Oak Creek, Co. Peabody offers\u00a0Benefits including\u00a0 \u00a0Paid Time Off, 401K, Quarterly Safety Incentives, Annual Incentive based on Performance and Safety, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Insurance, Long Term Care Insurance, and Life &amp; Accident Insurance.<\/p>\n<p><b>About you:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Good Attendance (absences, notice, punctuality, willingness to work overtime when requested.)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to read electrical prints and schematics<\/li>\n<li>Able to work independently<\/li>\n<li>Safety conscious<\/li>\n<li>Must be a self-starter and self-motivated<\/li>\n<li>Good verbal and written communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Teamwork and cooperation<\/li>\n<li>Leaning new tasks or assignments<\/li>\n<li>Energy, effort and initiative<\/li>\n<li>Must possess a high school diploma or GED<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to complete Mine Foreman certification within 6 months<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Physical requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time on uneven, rocky surfaces for up to the entire length of the shift<\/li>\n<li>Must have the ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Must have the ability to walk for up to 4 hours at a time.\u00a0 Will be required to walk through different sections of the mine with varying degrees of clearance and headroom<\/li>\n<li>Must have the ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA<\/li>\n<li>Must have the ability to climb up and down stairs\/steps and climb on and off equipment and ladders.<\/li>\n<li>Must have the ability to lift\/raise up to 80 lbs. without mechanical assistance frequently during the course of work shift.<\/li>\n<li>Must have the ability to work in extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, water varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area<\/li>\n<li>The job requires that you be able to work various shifts (required shifts include days, evenings and nights with rotating schedules, weekends and holidays<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NOTE:\u00a0 This is a \u201csafety sensitive role\u201d.\u00a0 Individuals in safety sensitive roles cannot have:\n<ul>\n<li>an uncontrolled condition which is likely to cause loss of consciousness or ability to control a motor vehicle or other large machinery:<\/li>\n<li>an uncontrolled respiratory or cardiac dysfunction likely to interfere with the ability to operate a motor vehicle or other large machinery:<\/li>\n<li>a current clinical diagnosis of high blood pressure likely to interfere with ability to operate a motor vehicle or other large machinery:<\/li>\n<li>a current or unregulated mental or psychiatric disorder likely to interfere with ability to drive a motor vehicle or other large machinery;<\/li>\n<li>impaired hearing (with or without hearing aids) that would prevent the person from hearing crucial safety information or alarms;<\/li>\n<li>impaired vision.
