Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman. The scope of your role will be to perform maintenance on face equipment and outby equipment.\u00a0 Tasks include preventative maintenance, permissibility, and major and minor repair work.\u00a0\u00a0 If a candidate does not have Electrical Certification, must be willing to obtain Colorado L\/M\/H electrical certification within one year.\u00a0\u00a0This role offers a great opportunity for growth and to expand knowledge and skills.<\/p>\n<p>Twentymile Mine is an underground coal mine located in Colorado\u2019s scenic Yampa Valley about 20 miles outside Steamboat Springs, a ski resort and vacation destination. The surrounding area has towns both large and small including Oak Creek, Craig, Hayden, and Steamboat Springs. Hunting and fishing are very popular in this area. Shotgun and archery hunting is allowed on Peabody property for employees with proper authorization.<\/p>\n<p>Peabody Twentymile has a safety-first culture and has been recognized two years in a row by the National Mining Association as the safest underground coal mine in the United States. The award recognizes coal and mineral mining operations with the lowest MSHA reportable injury rate. In 2023, Twentymile completed three years without a single reportable injury.<\/p>\n<p>The Pay Rate for this position is between $28\/hour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, and electricity<\/li>\n<li>Basic knowledge of cutting and welding<\/li>\n<li>General knowledge of mining equipment<\/li>\n<li>Committed to completing assigned tasks<\/li>\n<li>Self-motivated<\/li>\n<li>Attention to detail, good housekeeping<\/li>\n<li>Teamwork, cooperation<\/li>\n<li>Learning new tasks or assignments<\/li>\n<li>Energy, effort, and initiative<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The Lifestyle:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This position is a full-time role, working from Twentymile Mine location in Oak Creek, Co. Peabody offers Benefits including Paid Time Off, 401K, Quarterly Safety Incentives, Annual Incentive based on Performance and Safety, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Insurance, Long Term Care Insurance, and Life &amp; Accident Insurance.<\/p>\n<p><b>About you:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Colorado Mine Foreman Preferred<\/li>\n<li>Electrical Certification Preferred<\/li>\n<li>Noise Certification Preferred<\/li>\n<li>Previous mining experience preferred<\/li>\n<li>High School Diploma or equivalent<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Physical requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must have the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time on uneven, rocky surfaces for up to the entire length of the shift<\/li>\n<li>Must have the ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles<\/li>\n<li>Must have the ability to walk for up to 4 hours at a time.\u00a0 Will be required to walk through different sections of the mine with varying degrees of clearance and headroom<\/li>\n<li>Must have the ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA<\/li>\n<li>Must have the ability to climb up and down stairs\/steps and climb on and off equipment and ladders.<\/li>\n<li>Must have the ability to lift\/raise up to 80 lbs. without mechanical assistance frequently during the course of work shift.<\/li>\n<li>Must have the ability to work in extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, water varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area<\/li>\n<li>The job requires that you be able to work various shifts (required shifts include days, evenings and nights with rotating schedules, weekends, and holidays<\/li>\n<li>NOTE:\u00a0 This is a \u201csafety-sensitive role\u201d.\u00a0 Individuals in safety-sensitive roles cannot have:\n<ul>\n<li>an uncontrolled condition that is likely to cause loss of consciousness or ability to control a motor vehicle or other large machinery;<\/li>\n<li>an uncontrolled respiratory or cardiac dysfunction likely to interfere with the ability to operate a motor vehicle or other large machinery;<\/li>\n<li>a current clinical diagnosis of high blood pressure likely to interfere with the ability to operate a motor vehicle or other large machinery;<\/li>\n<li>a current or unregulated mental or psychiatric disorder likely to interfere with the ability to drive a motor vehicle or other large machinery;<\/li>\n<li>impaired hearing (with or without hearing aids) that would prevent the person from hearing crucial safety information or alarms;<\/li>\n<li>impaired vision.
