{"id":24487,"date":"2024-11-09T03:14:27","date_gmt":"2024-11-08T16:14:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/explorecareers.com\/?post_type=ra-jobs&#038;p=24487"},"modified":"2024-11-09T03:14:27","modified_gmt":"2024-11-08T16:14:27","slug":"asphalt-plant-laborer","status":"publish","type":"ra-jobs","link":"https:\/\/explorecareers.com\/job\/asphalt-plant-laborer\/","title":{"rendered":"Asphalt Plant Laborer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Position Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Crew member essential to the asphalt plant crew.\u00a0 Member will assist in all jobs pertaining to keeping the asphalt plant running at normal efficiency levels.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.<\/li>\n<li>Properly follow all company policies and OSHA\/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.<\/li>\n<li>Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.<\/li>\n<li>Attendance required according to Company Attendance Policy to ensure crew is able to operate at normal efficiency level.<\/li>\n<li>Assist plant crew with various duties such as shoveling, loading equipment and general maintenance and upkeep of plant.<\/li>\n<li>May be required to use power and\/or hand tools such as shovel, rake, hammer, saw, pneumatic hammer\/drill, tamps (both manual and power driven), sledge hammer and other tools associated with laborer.<\/li>\n<li>Dig, spread and level construction materials.<\/li>\n<li>Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and supplies.<\/li>\n<li>Follow directions of manager as to daily tasks at plant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Physical ability to operate equipment under temperature extremes and for extended hours of time. Normal shift is 8-12 hours.<\/li>\n<li>Attitude\/cooperation: always maintaining courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers and public.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Education\/Experience<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school education of GED preferred but not required.<\/li>\n<li>Experience running a loader preferred but not required.<\/li>\n<li>Basic electrical\/mechanical skills preferred but not required<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in construction field is preferred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Work Requirements<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to communicate effectively to insure all plant personnel understand what is expected and what needs are lacking.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes.<\/li>\n<li>Overtime work required.
