Amsted Rail-Griffin Wheel, the leading manufacturer of railroad wheels in North America, recruits qualified individuals for Laborer positions within its foundry operations.
- The laborer position is an entry level position that should progress to the other basic foundry jobs based on bidding, training and qualification
- Will be responsible for learning and fulfilling the needs of the production departments in various positions
- Performs any combination of tasks relating to melting, casting, mold preparation, wheel preparation, moving foundry materials and facility housekeeping
- The position may be moved at management's discretion until they bid to a permanent position
Amsted Rail-Griffin Wheel, the leading manufacturer of railroad wheels in North America, recruits qualified individuals for Molding Laborer positions. These positions train and work in various areas of the molding department in the manufacturing of railroad wheels.

- Work without direct supervision — be a self-starter
- Pay attention to details, including accurate data collection/entry
- Work either the evening shift (3:00 pm to 11:00 pm) or night shift (11:00 pm to 7:00 am); daily and weekend overtime is required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successfully complete screening and skills tests prior to interviewing
- Very good compensation — starting wage is $24.06 or higher depending on the position — plus a comprehensive benefit package
- Job offers contingent on background check and physical including drug screen
Amsted Rail-Griffin Wheel, the leading manufacturer of railroad wheels in North America, recruits qualified individuals for Wheel Inspector positions within its foundry operations.
- Perform magnaglo, ultrasonic and visual inspection of wheels for surface and sub-surface defects to maintain quality standards
- Set-up, change, adjust, and operate equipment within established standards
- Properly mark wheel defects and record data on forms or electronically
- Work either afternoons or evening shift; daily and weekend overtime is required
- High school diploma or equivalent to high school education, with additional education being a plus
- Preference given to those with recent quality assurance experience, training in testing and testing equipment, use of precision measuring instruments, and knowledge of magnaglo and ultrasonic testing
- Must be willing to become qualified to a Level I inspector
- Ability to work overtime as schedule dictates
