Most technical careers at Marvell require a bachelor's or postgraduate degree. Explore three career areas now so you can understand what they involve and begin building the right skills for the future.

You do not need to have your entire career mapped out today. Use high school and tech/trade study to explore STEM, strengthen your foundations and decide which university pathway may be right for you.
Marvell looks for talented individuals who are ready to drive world-changing innovation in semiconductor technology. Here's who thrives here.
You geek out over chip design, signal processing, and pushing the boundaries of what semiconductors can do — and you want your work powering the world's data infrastructure.
You're obsessed with building systems that protect data at scale, and you understand that security isn't an afterthought — it's foundational to everything we do.
You see the big picture of how data moves, processes, and gets stored across global infrastructure, and you want to optimize every piece of that puzzle.
You're not just technically talented — you believe in building a collaborative, ethical, and supportive workplace where innovation and people thrive together.
Ejaz Ahamed Shaik became Marvell's first GenAI intern. Talent Brand's Mary Gorges sat down with him to talk chips, code, and finding your way into STEM. His advice for high schoolers: “Build a strong foundation in math and physics. If computer science courses are available, take them.”
“It's an incredible opportunity. The job market for software development engineers is now very competitive, especially with advancements in AI. Being at Marvell, where there's a strong focus on innovation, lets me work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to the future of technology.”
“My main focus is a retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) system to assist developers with Verilog queries and design issues — detecting early anomalies in chip design before they get costly. We're also developing a custom large language model specifically for Verilog design and verification.”
“GenAI understands and writes code with an accuracy traditional code can't match. It's like having an intelligent assistant — solving problems using natural language makes it incredibly powerful.”
“A big portion of my time goes to researching and developing LLM-powered systems, and interacting with teams to explore integrating GenAI into their workflows — like building extensions to Copilot and fine-tuning models with Verilog data.”
“My background is in electronics and I was always passionate about the semiconductor industry. After working as a software engineer and diving into AI and ML, this role — aligning GenAI and semiconductors — seemed a perfect fit.”
“In high school I loved math, physics and chemistry. Watching documentaries about Einstein and Tesla made me dream of becoming a scientist. Seek out good mentors, talk to people, and remember there's no single right way — I didn't take computer science in high school, and here I am.”
Diana Sandu joined Marvell through the Inphi acquisition in her fourth year of an Electrical Engineering degree — and grew across six roles into a Packaging Engineering Manager. Her advice for anyone starting out:
Hear directly from our interns about building a career in STEM — and what they wish they'd known when they started.
Read more intern stories →“A journey in STEM demands patience and determination. It may feel like everyone else is progressing faster. But give it enough time.”
“It's crucial to gain a solid theoretical foundation in the field you pursue, as it provides a background to learn and research new things. Never stop asking questions about how things work.”
“STEM is a vast field, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the different paths available. Don't feel confined to a single area, and don't hesitate to explore what interests you most.”
“Always be curious and don't be afraid to ask questions. Being in STEM is all about taking the initiative of building your own journey, and being inquisitive is a way to grow.”
“When choosing your first internship or job, it is equally important to consider the atmosphere of the team and company culture along with the actual role.”
“I learned math in an environment that encouraged students to have fun. When looking for jobs, look for problems in society you are passionate about solving using your STEM skills.”
Advice from Shawn Crowley, Senior University Recruiter at Marvell Technology, for students preparing to enter one of the most exciting and competitive periods in technology.
Marvell is an AI infrastructure semiconductor company. We design the custom silicon, interconnects, switches and optical systems that power the world's largest AI data centers.
Candidates who understand why AI infrastructure is difficult, and why the silicon layer is where critical innovation happens, stand out immediately.
We also recruit for finance, HR, legal and technical program management. Exposure to AI tools and workflows is increasingly valuable across every technical discipline.
Make hardware-relevant coursework, tools and projects easy to see. Highlight Computer Architecture, Digital Design, VLSI, Verilog, Python scripting or EDA tools when they relate to the role.
Ask sharp, specific questions that show real research. Thoughtful questions about Marvell's technology or the team's engineering challenges land far better than generic ones.
Start with your university job board. Marvell also recruits through Handshake, Symplicity and employee referrals — and students who show up at career fairs, tech talks and info sessions get remembered.
Three essentials: candidate quality, genuine interest in the role, and alignment with what Marvell is building. The program is conversion-focused — treat every internship as an extended interview.
U.S. technical internships begin appearing. Get your resume and project list ready before this point.
RTL Design, Design Verification and Physical Design roles can fill within weeks. Apply promptly when you see a fit.
Finance, HR, legal and program management positions commonly post later in the cycle.
Marvell's Intern Program blends innovation, collaboration and professional growth for eligible university students, including undergraduates and postgraduate students enrolled at accredited institutions.
More than paperwork. New hire orientation covers culture, values and expectations, with training tailored to your function — plus University Recruiting events like the Bringing A Chip Into Production session and an overview of career development resources.
Interns tackle real projects — from optimizing algorithms for next-gen networking to collaborating on cutting-edge semiconductor designs. You're never siloed; you work cross-functionally with engineers, product managers and designers.
Our mentorship program is more than a formality. Your assigned mentor actively guides you with insights, career advice and practical tips — helping you navigate challenges and connect with the right people.
Weekly Leadership Speaker Series with the C-suite — from CEO Matt Murphy to COO Chris Koopmans — alongside a Diversity Speaker Series, coffee chats and socials, the global Marvell Around the World event in teams of 5-6, plus personal finance and career development sessions.
Our 12-week summer program is conversion-based — we hope you'll accept a return offer as a returning intern or full-time employee and build a long-term career with us.
Interns are integral team members in an environment of trust, respect and integrity. You'll attend team meetings, contribute to discussions and see decisions made firsthand — and you're encouraged to bring your own ideas.
Return offers are not guaranteed. Conversion depends on a range of factors including economic conditions and headcount.
Beyond our internships, Marvell supports STEM literacy and K-12 youth development — giving students access to resources, mentorship and hands-on experiences that can inspire careers in robotics, engineering and computer science.
