A Driver Trainee will be trained by Republic Services to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) to then assume the responsibility of a Driver with our Company. Driver Trainees will complete a comprehensive training program and be given the resources to take the CDL examination. Once the Driver Trainee completes the program and obtains a CDL, he/she will be placed into an open Driver position in one of the Company’s lines of business, including but not limited to, Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off.

We offer various programs for those planning on attending college which include:
College Internships
Republic Services offers paid internships to college students across a variety of areas. Internships span two to three months and provide practical work experience.
To be eligible for this program, you must have a college sophomore status or above.
Leadership Training Program
The Leadership Training Program provides an in-depth knowledge of the Company as you rotate through each major area of Republic Services.
This program is available to graduating seniors and those seeking an improved understanding of our industry.
It is designed to place you in an Operations Management role within 18 months.
General Manager Accelerated Program (GMAP)
Our full-time, 24-month GMAP program offers on-the-job training and formal learning through a structured sequence of responsibilities and rotation through key roles within the Company. You’ll build close working relationships with executives, managers, employees and customers.
This program is available to MBAs with previous leadership experience.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with a program beginning each July
It is designed to place you in a General Manager role within two years.

Republic Services Technical Institute offers paid on-the-job training, high-tech classrooms, and computer-based learning to work toward your technical certification tuition-free in Dallas, Texas.
The Republic Services Technician Apprenticeship program has opportunities available across the United States for a Technician Apprentice to join the team in one of our 180 business units. This outstanding career opportunity was created for aspiring Technicians to earn while they learn.
We will provide the technical training you need to succeed in your apprenticeship. In return you need to be committed to completing this two-year program. Our ideal Technician Apprentice will be a logical problem solver with an interest in engineering and technology.
