  • Create and follow a service schedule within an assigned territory, ensuring safe and timely arrival at each customer's location
  • Serve as a problem solver for our customers by utilizing the in-depth training provided to decide on the most efficient and best overall solution for each customer's needs

You'll protect homes, businesses, and communities by managing nuisance wildlife — like raccoons, squirrels, bats, and snakes — in a humane and ethical way. The job blends problem-solving, physical work, and a commitment to wildlife conservation.

Daily tasks

Inspect properties for wildlife activity, safely remove animals, and install exclusion devices to prevent future issues. You'll use power tools, climb ladders, and work in attics, crawlspaces, and on rooftops.

Science classes: Take biology, environmental science, or zoology to learn about animals and ecosystems, which are central to Trutech's mission. Physical education: Stay active to prepare for the physical demands of climbing, lifting, and working outdoors. Shop or technical classes: Courses in woodworking or mechanics can help you get comfortable with tools used for installing exclusion devices. English and communication: Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with Trutech's clients and explaining solutions clearly.

Develop key skills
Problem-solving: Practice quick thinking to prepare for assessing and resolving wildlife issues on the job. Physical fitness: Build stamina through sports or outdoor activities to handle tasks like lifting up to 50 pounds or working on ladders. Attention to detail: Sharpen your observation skills to spot signs of wildlife activity during property inspections. Teamwork and independence: Trutech technicians work both solo and in teams, so develop both skills through group projects or extracurriculars.

Volunteer or intern: Seek opportunities at animal shelters, wildlife rehabilitation centers, or conservation organizations to gain hands-on animal experience. Ian Vosseler began his career as a Wildlife Service Technician in the Orlando area in 2018. Eager to grow, Ian relocated to Charleston, SC for a promotion to Service Manager. Within a year he was promoted again, and today he leads the Low Country district as District Manager.
