Patient Care Technician
Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) at Fresenius Medical Care support and collaborate with nurses to provide dialysis treatment to several patients at a time while maintaining the functionality of the clinic. This involves prepping and testing equipment, reviewing treatment sheets, and opening the clinic at 4am for first shift. PCTs have a combination of technical skills and genuine passion needed to develop deep relationships with patients and improve their quality of life.

Nephrology Nursing Residency Program
Nephrology nursing is a unique profession, so it is important for our nurses to gain in-depth experience and feedback from peers within their cohort and through firsthand experience with nurse mentors in their local areas and leaders in their organization. Our first-of-its-kind residency program allows nurses to gain their hands-on education in dialysis and support from leadership and their peers. The program runs for 12 to 15 months and focuses on holistic training for new Pre-Licensed Nurses or Pre-Licensed Staff.
We provide new high school graduates with the opportunity to kickstart their careers in healthcare and encourage our employees to pursue further education and become nurses by covering their college education expenses and offering compensation increases as they progress in nursing school.
Upon high school graduation, you will participate in a paid, 13-week training program to prepare you for your initial patient care technician (PCT) role. After 60 days of full-time employment, you will be eligible for our Go4RN Program and can register for nursing school. The majority of your nursing education expenses may be covered by Fresenius through our GO4RN program. For more details, please feel free to ask.
After graduating from nursing school, you will have the opportunity to enter our nursing residency program. Following the residency, you will be promoted to a registered nurse.
