Dock Worker

Start your career at Yellow right out of High School as a Dock Worker at one of our 300+ locations. Our Dock Workers will focus on learning how to properly and safely load and unload trailers. We will teach you how to utilize a fork lift and pallet jack to move freight into trailers.

Customer Service Representative 

Begin your career at our Customer Service Center in Des Moines, IA. We know that exceptional customer service is at the heart of our operations. As the Customer Service Specialist, you will provide professional customer service to both internal and external customers. You will collaborate with customers, our Customer Service team, our Operations and Sales team, to assist our customers and resolve issues.

Billing Clerk

Join our Billing Team in Topeka, KS or Toledo, OH! Our Billing Clerks will enter Bills of Lading while ensuring their accuracy and completeness. As errors are identified, they will communicate with our internal customers to help resolve the issue. They will also provide customer service for internal and external customers who have questions about their bills.

No experience with Billing? No problem! Yellow has an excellent and extensive training to help educate you about our industry, the functions of the role, and how to be successful.

Driving Academy

For more than 90 years, drivers have been the beating heart of Yellow. Their professionalism and expertise are the reasons our customers keep coming back. If you want to join the best people in transportation and help write the next great chapter in the LTL industry, the tuition-free Yellow Driving Academy is a great place to start! To gain your CDL and participate in Yellow’s Driving Academy, you must be 21 years old.

The Yellow CDL Driving Academy will teach you the skills to be one of the best and safest drivers on the road. Our instructors, many with more than a million miles of safe driving experience, will actively engage you in the classroom, in the practice yard and on the road, laying the foundation for a fulfilling and dynamic career as a Yellow truck driver.

The Yellow CDL Driving Academy consists of four weeks of classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training with an experienced and highly qualified instructor. The program is both entry-level driver training compliant and fully registered through the Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program.

Once you graduate from the Yellow CDL Driving Academy and obtain your CDL and endorsements, you’ll return to your home terminal for a minimum of four weeks of paid training.

In total, you’ll received more than 320 hours of instruction, all of it tuition-free and paid for by Yellow.

Employee Resource Groups

VETS Inclusion Network

  • The VETS Resource Group is designed to create a community of support and enrichment for past and present members of the military. All employees at Yellow are welcome to join. Our mission is to cultivate enriching relationships within our organization focused on supporting military veterans, retirees, and members of the Reserves and National Guard by stablishing an inclusive community to recruit, develop, and support them and their families throughout their careers at Yellow.

Participants of this program are afforded specific leadership development opportunities and specialized learning programs available online via Yellow’s learning platforms. This program is focused on developing our veterans for key leadership roles within the organization and to improve their employment experience at Yellow.

Women’s Inclusion Network

  • One of our organizational priorities is to attract, develop, and retain top talent in the critical roles our industry demands. At Yellow, we recognize the value women bring and our newly expanded women’s employee resource group, the Women’s Inclusion Network, is designed to foster relationships, enhance the employee experience, support our women behind the wheel and across our network, and develop a strong pool of future leaders through resources including mentoring, special events, leadership development, discussion forums, and enrichment opportunities. This expanded group is open to all – members and allies.

Multicultural Inclusion Network

  • As part of Yellow’s effort to consciously commit to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), we’re excited to announce the launch of the newly formed Multicultural Inclusion Network (MIN). The mission of this group is to help cultivate an inclusive environment where multicultural diversity is leveraged as a strength, and all employees are welcomed, valued, supported, and able to contribute to their fullest, through communication, education, holding space for, and investing in career capital in our multicultural employees and their advocates and allies. This group is for all employees and aims to impact all employees by creating a community that is committed and accountable for our DEIB goals.

Emerging Professionals Inclusion Network

  • At Yellow, we value the growth of our employees and offer them opportunities to develop as professionals and advance their careers. The Emerging Professionals Inclusion Network employee resource group is for emerging professionals that are aspiring to be in a leadership role and/or have recently become leaders for the organization. We also encourage experienced leaders to join as allies who support our emerging leaders at Yellow.

The Emerging Professionals Inclusion Network will provide and promote opportunities for professional development, engagement, networking, and community as we create a culture that values, encourages, and prioritizes continuous learning and growth to retain talent and encourage promotional opportunities for emerging professionals.

Our DEIB Steering Committee Members serve as advisors and partners to the executive leadership team and focus on making diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging a reality for all employees at Yellow. The DEIB steering committee is working closely with the executive team to define diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging at Yellow, set strategic priorities, and cultivate a culture of belonging that celebrates diversity and ensures all our employees can thrive.

Women in Trucking

One of the most important diversity efforts at Yellow is our partnership with Women In Trucking, a non-profit organization that promotes women’s employment in our industry, expands recruiting programs and reaches out to truck stop owners on interstate highways to encourage more female-friendly environments.
