Job Summary

This role is designed for high-aptitude individuals to participate in an accelerated training program to learn technical drawing concepts and develop composition skills utilizing computer-based drafting tools, such as AutoCAD and Revit. Learning and skills development will be focused on targeted solutions, primarily Renewables (Solar), Grid  (Substation, OH Transmission, and Distribution) and EV Charging. This program includes instructor and computer led office and role-based training, solution introductory training (solution overview and typical deliverables) and on the job assignments. Upon successful completion of the approximate 3-week program, the professional will transition to an Engineering Technician 1 level position.

Key Responsibilities

Participation in, and successful completion of all aspects of the accelerator training program.  Training curriculum includes, but is not limited to:

  • Focused, Role-Based Training, comprised of general office skills/behaviors, Microsoft Office, technical drawing composition, and role specific design concepts/tolls, such as AutoCad Basics and Introduction to Revit
  • Solution Introduction Training, comprised of solution overviews, technician workflows and deliverables, and additional targeted solution design skills and knowledge, which may include Renewables (Solar), Grid (T&D), and EV charging.
  • Proven success in on initial entry level projects assignments, with enhanced support structure/continued training opportunities.

Note:  Program continuation will be dependent on demonstrated competency assessed through various channels, such as computer based and proficiency testing and assessments and instructor evaluation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Certificate Preferred
  • Ability to operate a PC utilizing Windows OS, exposure to Microsoft office and/or computer graphics programs a plus)
  • Practical/construction knowledge, ideally in solar, grid (Substation, OH Transmission, and distribution) or EV charging
  • Geospatial aptitude
  • Works effectively in a team environment
  • Verbal and Written Communication skills – English (bi-lingual a plus)

  • Aptitude for Learning
  • Self-starter
  • Time Management

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to travel during training program, if needed
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

In accordance with local law, the following  compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $25.38 – $33.05.
