Maintenance Mechanic

Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Repair and install production/manufacturing equipment.  Inspect equipment for proper functioning and perform preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer’s specifications. Diagnose equipment malfunctions and makes repairs or adjustments as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

• Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on production equipment as needed.
• Perform breakdown analysis.
• Repair mechanical systems, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pneumatics and air compressors, and pumps.
• Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams and product manuals to determine the method and sequence of assembly of a part, machine, or piece of equipment.
• Upgrade production lines with new equipment/technology.
• Understand and follow proper lock out/tag out procedures as required.
• Comply with GMP, safety, and audit standards.
• Document work schedule and work tasks completed.
• Perform basic housekeeping to keep area clean and safe.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

4 years’ experience in related field with proven industry experience, including:

• Industrial, heavy truck, automotive or farm equipment repair.
• Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic components
• Bearing installation and handling
• Plumbing and piping
• Blueprint reading
