Mechanic

About the Role:

Peabody is seeking experienced Mechanics to join its maintenance teams across various U.S. mining operations. This role is essential in ensuring the optimal performance and safety of mining equipment through effective mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on mining equipment, including haul trucks, loaders, dozers, and drills
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment readiness
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in heavy equipment maintenance
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and schematics
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
• Commitment to safety and teamwork

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
• Comfortable working in various environmental conditions
• Capable of standing, walking, and climbing for extended periods
• Use of personal protective equipment as required
