Surgical Technician

Position Summary:

Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Assembles needed supplies/equipment before and during the surgical procedure while maintaining standards of care established for the patient scheduled for a procedure. The surgical technician sets up the procedure, anticipates the physicians needs and hands supplies and instruments to the physician. Takes assigned call.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education

High school or equivalent

Completion of an anatomy and physiology course preferred

Minimum Experience

On-the-job training

Required Registration/License/Certification

BLS certification to be obtained within 90 days of employment

Certified Surgical Tech (CRT) certification preferred
