WHAT IS OILYMPICS?
Valvoline Inc’s one-of-a-kind version of the Olympic Games that celebrates service center skill, teamwork and speed. Each summer, Valvoline Instant Oil ChangeSM (VIOC) and Valvoline Great Canadian Oil Change service center teams from across the U.S. and Canada come together to compete to see who can execute a perfect oil change in the fastest time.
IT ALL STARTS WITH OUR PEOPLE
Started in VIOC in 1994, the event is now legendary at Valvoline Inc. As our family of brands and store count has grown, so has the competition. Our more than 1,700 Company-owned and Franchised service centers in the U.S. and Canada our invited to compete locally to determine the best-of-the-best team in their market or system. Each send one regional qualifying team to Nationals.
BEING GREAT AT WHAT WE DO
Challenging each other to be great is embedded in our culture. Store technicians complete more than 270 hours of professional training. Oilympics puts that training to the test in a fun, unique way! VIOC store teams master the proprietary service process called SuperPro™. There are 178 steps required to execute the perfect VIOC oil change service experience for our guests. Our senior leadership team serves as judges to time and score each team performing an oil change.
GOING FOR GOLD
In previous competitions, only one second or point has separated first and second places. The top three teams are awarded bronze, silver and gold medals. Gold medalists also win a huge trophy to keep at their service center and are awarded a Company-paid destination vacation where they can play hard after working hard. In 2023, 36 teams competed for the gold, including the 2022 defending champions from Lexington, Kentucky who placed third this year. Our 2023 winning teams were from Nashville, Tennessee (gold), Richmond, Virginia (silver) and Lexington (bronze).
Tuition Reimbursement Program
While we’re an auto services company, we’re really in the business of taking care of our people, including helping you achieve your professional goals. We’ve built a tuition reimbursement program offering directly billed tuition assistance and reimbursement for qualified educational experiences.
Our robust tuition reimbursement program offers up to $5,250 of undergraduate expenses or up to $7,500 for graduate degree programs per calendar year (January 1 – December 31). We will reimburse the cost for eligible expenses. Some eligible expenses include course registration fees, application fees, lab fees, required textbooks, technology/computer fees, and distance learning fees (some restrictions may apply).

You’ve developed into quite the leader! As you continue to grow within the VIOC Vamily, you are using your skills to help develop your team, teaching them to achieve what you’ve achieved and lead teams of their own!
While your path with VIOC may vary, we love to see each other grow and become the leaders we know you can be. Although your development path may look different from your other team members, your roadmap to leadership could be reached within 24 months.
